Supervision
I provide clinical and professional supervision for a range of health, community and education professionals. I also provide consultation and training for organisations around clinical and workplace issues.
What is clinical supervision?
Clinical supervision provides a safe place where you can explore aspects of your professional role and work-related concerns. The process is based on a trusting relationship between the supervisee and the supervisor who facilitates reflective practice, exploration of ethical issues and development of skills.
The benefits of clinical supervision
Clinical supervision enhances reflective practice; provides emotional support; increases confidence, competence and professional skills; reduces stress; improves coping skills and supports professional development.
Any issues that impact on your professional role and practice can be brought to supervision. Some examples are:
What is discussed in supervision is determined by you, your own goals and learning needs. Occasionally, more personal issues may arise within supervision which are outside the scope of clinical supervision, in which case you it may be suggested that referral for additional personal support might helpful.
What can you expect?
I use a flexible and responsive integrative approach to supervision. I support reflective practice by drawing on a range of theoretical perspectives, for example, collaborative model, reflective learning, and systems theory. I believe that different theoretical approaches can be helpful and applied in a given scenario to help gain insight into the complex dimensions of human experience. I therefore individualise supervision to suit the context. This also reflects how many practitioners approach their own clinical work.
Individual supervision is available face-to-face and online.
Group supervision is available both face-to-face and online by arrangement.
Onsite group supervision can be provided in organisations located in the CBD of Melbourne and outer suburbs.
